Numerous websites in South Africa are run by foreigners, and Cityslicker.co.za is no exception. A Frenchman, Olivier Chas, has championed the group buying scene with experience in the industry in his country of origin.

However, by mid 2011, Cityslicker was still only available only in Cape Town and although numbers were looking quite good, this website still has to prove that it is to be both profitable and a force against the larger group buying websites. To this end, they are recruiting in the other major cities in South Africa.
